Tim Howard was amazing... cold blooded.... solid... and borderline unstoppable. Unfortunately the US defense forced him to be and Belgium advanced in the World Cup. The 16 saves by the US Goalie were the most by a World Cup GoalKeeper since 1966 when they actually started keeping records.
“Belgium are a good team with a lot of good players but so are we,” Howard said. “Games like this are never easy to digest after. Everybody put so much into it. It's disappointing to go out this way. But we need to be honest with ourselves and know that there's still work ahead of us and we have to keep getting better and keep working. And if we do that then we're just going to keep moving ourselves along.”
When asked about his World Cup Future, Howard said he hopes to be celebrating goals by Jozy and throwing beers around when the US plays in 2018. Whatever his World Cup future might be, he was the star of this memorable run the US made in Brazil.
