Michael Irvin Says He Would Have Played With Kevin Durant's Injury

Michael Irvin: “Kevin Durant loves the game and had a hell of an opportunity to make a moment right there and for that first 12 minute he MADE that moment. Do you understand what stratosphere Kevin Durant would have gone in if he never gotten hurt and they came back and won that series?? It could have pushed him past LeBron James. If I’m in that same situation, I’m doing the same thing Kevin Durant did.”

Listen to NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin explain to Rich Eisen why he feels for Kevin Durant after the game’s best player suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in Game 5 on Monday’s NBA Finals game.

Many pundits around the basketball community have been very critical of the Warriors’ decision not to police their superstar player from himself and not allow him to take the court, but Irvin says he knows exactly how Durant felt in the moment, and says for the opportunity it could have brought, potentially the most legendary moment of KD’s career, Irvin says it’s hard to disagree with Durant’s shot at glory.
