Cristiano Ronaldo In Quarantine After Teammate's Coronavirus Diagnosis

Cristiano Ronaldo has been quarantined in Portugal after Daniele Rugani, his teammate from the soccer team Juventus, tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Ronaldo, 35, played a game with Rugani, 25, on Sunday (March 8), where he was seen offering high-fives as he arrived at the empty stadium. Afterward, he flew to see his mother, who recently suffered from a stroke. Unfortunately, he's not permitted to fly back to Italy as he and everyone else who came in contact with the teammate are in isolation. Rugani took to Twitter to break his silence on the diagnosis, writing, "You will have read the news and that’s why I want to reassure all those who are worrying about me, I’m fine. I urge everyone to respect the rules, because this virus makes no distinctions! Let’s do it for ourselves, for our loved ones and for those around us."

Meanwhile, Juventus released a statement on the diagnosis. "The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic. Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law, including the census of those who have had contact with him," the note read.

Juventus is expected to play a match in the Champions League against Lyon next week, but it's likely that the game will be postponed due to the ongoing concerns over the virus, which has reportedly effected more than 10,000 individuals in Italy. More than 600 casualties have been reported.
