Oklahoma State University's struggles continued on Saturday (October 11) as the Cowboys lost to the Houston Cougars 39-17 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The defeat marks OSU's fifth consecutive loss, leaving them with a 1-5 record for the season and 0-3 in the Big 12 Conference.

The Cowboys managed only 225 total yards, with their offense showing little momentum beyond a few standout plays. An early trick-play touchdown involving a 63-yard reception by running back Rodney Fields Jr. briefly put OSU ahead. However, the team struggled to maintain that momentum. Later, wide receiver Gavin Freeman scored a 33-yard touchdown, but these efforts were not enough to close the gap.

Houston's quarterback Conner Weigman was instrumental in the Cougars' victory, completing 21 of 30 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Dean Connors contributed with 83 rushing yards and a touchdown. Houston's Amare Thomas also shone, catching seven passes for 157 yards.

The Cowboys' defense faced challenges, including the loss of defensive back Jaylin Davies to a leg injury. OSU's next game is against Cincinnati on Saturday (October 18) at 7 p.m., which will be broadcast on ESPN2.
