The State Supreme Court has upheld an earlier ruling that the petition to force a city-wide vote in Norman on the Rock Creek Entertainment District is invalid.
That billion dollar project includes a new arena for OU sports and other amenities, but some citizens in Norman gathered petition signatures to try and force a vote on it.
While the group gathered enough signatures, a judge ruled that the petition language was insufficient and misleading and threw it out.
Earlier today, the State Supreme Court agreed with that ruling, which clears the way for the project to move forward.
